St. Petersburg train stations

St. Petersburg has 5 major train stations. Moskovsky Vokzal (Vokzal means station in Russian), Vitebsky Vokzal, Ladozhsky Vokzal, Finlandsky Vokzal and Baltisky Vokzal. The first 3 all handle long-distance passenger traffic as well as local, electric train services (called "electrichky"). The last 2 stations only offer local service to outlying suburbs. Stations have foreign currency exchange booths and ATM machines.

Moskovsky Vokzal is the main long-distance railroad station in the city and is located right on Nevsky Prospect, in the center of the city. All major trains to Moscow leave and arrive here. The station also services the far north, the Crimea, Central Asia and the Caucasus. Metro Ploshad Vosstaniya/Mayakovskaya is located right in the station so transport is very easy.

Metro: Ploshad Vosstaniya
Ploshad Vosstanya, 2
For information call: (+7812) 768-0111, 055, 768-4597

Vitebsky Vokzal is located on the edge of the center and has trains running to Europe, the Baltic States and the Ukraine. Metro Pushkinskaya is also located right at the station so transport to the rest of the city is easy. The station also has a foreign currency exchange booth and ATM machines.

Metro: Pushkinskaya
Zagorodny Prospekt, 52
For information call: (+7812) 768-0111, 055, 768-2859

Ladozhsky Vokzal is on the outskirts of the city and covers service to Finland and to the other northern directions such as Murmansk, Archangelsk, Petrozavadsk, Kostomuksha, etc. This station was built and opened just 2 years ago on the 25th of May 2003 so it looks like a modern railway station and is nice and comfortable for the travelers. Metro Ladozhskaya is located at the station so transport is not such a big problem. The station also has a foreign currency exchange booth and ATM machines.
